Both Naruto and Bleach have been around for nearly fifteen years, but while they were at one point rivals in the anime industry, they’ve begun to gain a lot of similarities. Both shows are battle-heavy with an overarching story and share many of the same voice actors and directors (in fact, Toshiyuki Tsuru voiced both Ichigo Kurosaki and Yamcha). So which anime is better? In this article, we’ll look at the similarities and differences between Naruto and Bleach to determine once and for all which show reigns supreme!

Who is Naruto?
Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 2002. In 2007, Viz Media began publishing the English-language version in North America; this was followed by the release of several other languages in 2008.
Who is Bleach?
Bleach is a Japanese manga series created by Tite Kubo. It started serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump from September 22, 2001, until December 25, 2014. The story follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with a special power called Soul Reaper Ability, allowing him to reattach his soul to a corpse after he dies. He is then sent back into the world to protect people from evil spirits known as Hollows.
Animation quality: Naruto vs. Bleach
The animation in Naruto is consistent, even if it’s not incredibly detailed. Most of the characters and settings in Naruto are consistent and look pretty realistic. Even though they aren’t super-detailed, they’re appealing to viewers who want action and excitement. As for Bleach… The animation doesn’t necessarily disappoint — most of it looks quite good, especially in battle scenes — but some of it falls flat at times, with odd color schemes or simplistic facial expressions.
Storyline: Naruto vs. Bleach
Both Naruto and Bleach have action-packed storylines that make you want to keep watching episode after episode. Both main characters have an inner drive to become stronger, and never give up. If I had to choose one it would be a tie, because they are both equally awesome! 🙂
Characters: Naruto vs. Bleach
The two main characters of Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha, have many similarities but also several key differences. At first glance, it’s easy to assume that these protagonists are just carbon copies of one another. However, after taking a closer look at both these young men, we begin to see that they are different in more ways than they are similar. If you were forced to choose one over the other—you couldn’t do it!
Voice acting: Naruto vs. Bleach
The reason I like Naruto better than Bleach is because of voice acting. In Naruto, voices are very well cast and fit with each character. If you want to know what happens next, it’s pretty hard not to watch more. Although in bleach there are good voice actors too they do not fit well with the characters. If a character dies in bleach you don’t care much about it because there isn’t much personality behind them due to poor voice acting.

Vibes: Naruto vs. Bleach
This seems like a rather subjective question. There’s no real winner to something like that because it comes down to each person. I don’t think you can answer a question like that objectively, but it will be fun to give it a shot. So here we go! If I had to choose between Naruto and Bleach, three elements would drive my decision: Characters, story, and art style/animation.
Action scenes: Naruto vs. Bleach
In terms of action, both series focus on battles between human-like creatures. However, while most of Naruto’s action scenes are evenly paced and well animated, Bleach fights tend to be long and drawn out. Bleach also tends to focus heavily on action sequences—even major story arcs can feel secondary to extended battles between two reishi-using fighters. If you like tons of fighting, these series are for you. But if you prefer focused storytelling with an occasional fight scene, then we recommend Naruto.
Opinions: Naruto vs. Bleach
I love both Naruto and Bleach. I think that both are fantastic series with a lot of heart and well-thought-out storylines. But if I had to pick just one it would be Naruto. There’s something about it that draws me in; probably how well written it is and how easy it is to relate to some of its characters, like Sasuke, who feels so isolated from his clan, or Sakura who feels she’s never good enough for anyone.
If you asked an average anime fan which was their favorite, you’d most likely get one of two answers. For many fans, Dragon Ball Z will always be their favorite due to its popularity, but others might say they prefer Naruto or Bleach. And while it’s fun to argue over whose characters are stronger and whose episodes are better, both shows have strengths and weaknesses that can make them difficult to watch.
